Launching the Greener Labs Network at Uppsala University

The climate crisis is accelerating. We want to reduce the impact of our research, and help others do the same.

In the fall of 2019, the Synthetic Molecular Chemistry Program at Uppsala University began discussing how to reduce the environmental impact of their research labs. This initial group grew as their normally too-busy researchers realized that not only was this important, but that the faculty officially supported us spending time (and grant money!) to improve how they did things.

In late 2020, the SMC program received 250kkr as part of Uppsala University’s Climate Pot to launch an University-wide sustainable laboratory network. Here we will document our university-wide efforts. Time is of the essence.

Let’s do this, together!
